The party puts the territorial organisation of Cameroon back on the table. The scheme defended by the national president, Hiram Samuel Iyodi, follows neither the ten current administrative regions nor a grouping of communities.
Five macro-regions are proposed, from agroecological zones: the Sahel federation, the Plateaux, the Mountains, the Coast and the Forest. The idea is old in the movement’s project. The societies it claims organised space according to climate, crops and the local economy.
Justice, defence, currency and diplomacy would stay with the central state. The rest of public life would be decided closer to where people live. The proposal does not cancel the path already set: a sovereign national conference, then a referendum so the people decide.
